Coláiste Eoin in Stillorgan Co. Dublin

This secondary school required its Beech sports surface to be resanded, linemarked and resealed as it displayed signs of significant wear after 3 years use. Beech sports surfaces are generally less easy to maintain than maple which is the most suitable wood species for sports use. Beech will show surface splits & minor cracks after a year these can become clogged with dirt irrespective of cleaning regimes.

Maple however does not split and is more resistant to moisture present in the higher humidity of Irelands climate. After resanding Tembec sealed and linemarked the surface using Sportiv water based lacquer. The primer coat absorbs deep into the surface cells unlike hard most solvent based lacquers and provides an excellent base for further coats and proprietary linemarking paint. The client is very pleased with the results.
